MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 20, 2008)- On the heels of the best-selling Stratos 176XT, comes a versatile fishing boat as suited to multi-species angling as its predecessor is to chasing bass. No longer are anglers confined to the same aluminum boats used by our fishing forefathers, boats known as much for their lack of amenities and hard edges as they are for their unstable nature on the water.
A new model in 2008, Stratos introduced the 1760DV, an all-fiberglass alternative to the dated aluminum styling and construction that has limited angler`s options for so long. For 2009 this new rig sports the same aggressive looks and practical configuration of a modern multi-species, tournament fishing boat and comes fully rigged with a 75-horsepower, 4-stroke engine; Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird electronics and a custom-matched trailer with brakes.
With a Yamaha 90 TLR, it comes at a price that starts at just $19,495. Less than the best-selling aluminum brands.
Much like the Stratos 176XT was for bass boat enthusiasts, the 1760DV combination of features, value and fishability has been a long time coming for anglers who fish big waters in search of walleye, pike and other cold-water species. This 17-foot, 6-inch boat is rated for a maximum of 115 horsepower, tows well and fits easily into most garages. Its fishing features easily surpass the best-selling aluminum brands with extra rod storage under the front deck as well as a bevy of storage options throughout the boat. Built with the modern angler in mind, this value-packed boat features extra legroom for a broader range of drivers, as well as a raised forward casting deck that allows free and comfortable movement while fishing.
With more usable space than comparable aluminum models, the Stratos 1760DV provides added peace of mind to anglers who prefer the inherent stability of an all-fiberglass boat when they stand or lean over the gunnels while landing fish. The wider footprint also makes it an easier platform to maneuver with multiple anglers on board and lends itself to a smoother, drier ride. All the features that serious multi-species anglers have come to expect are there: plenty of fishing space, aerated live well, running rod rack, tackle storage boxes and custom-matched upholstery are all standard.
Available in single- and dual-console, high-windshield configurations or in a dual-console, walk-through windshield configuration, the 1760DV is available in four head-turning colors and comes on a Road Armor Equipped, single-axle trailer with brakes. Given the fit, finish, fishability and features of this exciting, high-sided, multi-species fishing boat, all indicative of a boat costing thousands more, anglers are amazed by the price.
